I live in Prince George. Any recommendations as to a good lake to go to for this kind of fishing, for a week or so next summer? I'd also like to try my hand a flyfishing for Pike. (I've done it before in Manitoba, taking my biggest ever freshwater fish - a 26 pounder!! on a fly the size of a sparrow. Don't want to drive that far again though!)
So, you're saying that only people from FN and the Praries call them Walleye

LOL, I like your mom already, and I've never even met her
I don't know much about fishing around PG, but Walleye and Pike are abundent in the rivers and lakes around here. Don't stop at Pike with your Flyrod, the Walleye will give you a good fight as well..

As for the whole Walleye/Pickerel thing, I call them BOTH, it just depends on who I'm with or talking to at the time. Suposedly they are most comonly caller Walleye in the US and Pickerel in "english speaking" Canada.

I say "Call 'em what you want, MOST people will know what you mean"
