Not familiar with the IGA SxS, but many double barrels have a barrel selector that is part of the thumb safety switch. Take a close look, and see if it can be moved side to side as well as up and down. Some Stoeger/IGA models do not have a barrel selector, perhaps yours is one.
If you have removable chokes it should not make any diffference, as you can choose the choke for the barrel that shoots first. Usually the more open choke for the first shot, then the more restricted choke for the second shot.
Keep in mind that the type of ammunition you use will pattern differently, so try it out on a pattern board, to see the real results.
