Cowardly Move

I guess Fisher Dudes predictions were correct. As I had mentioned I was previously banned from HBC, with no explanation given why. I contacted Marc and after investigating he concluded he hadn't seen any reason for my ban and figured I had probably pissed off one of the mods. He graciously lifted my ban.

When I logged back on for the first time since the ban, I noticed my signature line was changed to read, "I am too dumb to be on the internet". I figured the person who changed it was probably the same mod that banned me.

I started a thread and told the story of what happened, and stated that I would appreciate whoever changed it, to change it back and apologize. I said that it was a cowardly move and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anyone to come forward.

When I logged back on later that day, I found myself banned again, and the thread I started was removed. Go figure.

I have seen some very angry threads on that site where people vent and end up getting into personal arguments with other members. Yet nothing happens to them. I can understand a temporary ban in my case, but I did not get personal and mention names. Even if I had know who banned me and changed the signature line, I still would not have mentioned names.

I guess its easy to hide behind a computer and pass judgement on others, all the while preaching the uselessness of gun control, how we as hunters are losing our freedoms, and blah, blah, blah.....

I'll never know who changed the signature line, but my advice to them is to grow up.

Well thats my rant. I hope no one minds me venting.

An act of cowardness for sure..There are some sites that have great mods and some that just can't wait for the banhammer to get used...I am a mod on a Ford truck site and i have yet to ban anyone (other than those pesky spammers)..and vent all you want, it helps to let it out.

No doubt. HBC is a great site though. I guess the whole situation left a bad impression on me.

I like HBC but don't like the "favorites" that can say or do anything they want........ the "click" is sometime sickening, but then gain a few mods get changed and things settle down for awhile!

I keep low, say a bit, get pissed off at times, block a few who I really can't stand (or understand!) and continue to make new friends.....

Of cours I am one of the few who am the same on here as I am in person....

For the whole I do like most people there.... met many people off the site and have taken quite a few out sturgeon fishing.

The "know it alls" are probably the worst..... ticks me off as we, the few who really do know everything can't get a word in at times.....

Like all forums HBC will have it's ups and downs. When you deal with a large group of people there will always be egos being bruised so don't take it personally.

In any case it's Marc's problem to deal with and you are more than welcome to spend more time here if you wish.

BTW, I am pretty sure Rob will notice this post soon and give you his opinion on certain HBC mods ................ I also know that he will do so via PM. Right Rob? LoL

I have some good friends over there as well, but really don't seem to find myself posting much anymore. But I guess I don't post here much either.............

Its funny yoou say that because I know some people on HBC and they tell me the same thing. They usually just browse the sight and don't post anything. Some of those guys make themselves to be the foremost authority on rifles and ammo.

I like when someone starts a thread about rifle brands and quality. Suddenly whichever rifle these guys own, are the best in the world. I especially enjoy any thread involving the CNBC story on Remingtons firing on their own. It's easy to see who owns remingtons on that site, when that discussion comes up.

There is an over abundance of experts over there, no doubt. I like the site, as there is alot of variety, topics & people. I've met a few great guy's over there. I've been to a couple of coffee meet & greets in Langley including the post christmas one.

I was looking over my posts on the HBC site and I have a really good idea of who may have banned me. I noticed one of my posts was completely deleted from a thread. In my post I poked some fun at another member, and I think they are the one that banned me.

There are 5 people at HBC that have Admin abilities. It shouldn't take Marc long to figure out who was screwing with your signature line.

I had contacted him about it a few days ago and he hsan't got back to me. I think I know who changed it and who banned me. It is probably one of the favourites on the site that can do as they please, and scold other members for doing the same. In other words, a hypocrite.

They completely removed any sign of my existence there. They deleted all my posts.

No, there are still 30-some posts of yours left there. I did notice that a few where you called another member to task have been deleted.

I also looked at their banned user list and was a bit surprised to see some long-time members listed there. Something is happening there but that is Marc's problem.

In any case I think you have made your point and as I want to avoid any cross-forum arguments from starting I am now locking this thread. (nothing personal against you )
