dry season

and i ain't talking booze . Now that the dry season has started off with a bang it won't be long before the shrubbery gets to dry and the animals migrate down from the upper elevations .Along with that there will be more encounters with wildlife ,bears ,cougars etc .Hopefully we won't have to put any down .

We don't have to worry about that around here as there are numerous water holes/swamps/small lakes up in-them-thar-hills. We won't see a migration out of the high country until the winter snows push them down.

I still haven't seen any bears down by the river (Englishman) in spite of this heat wave. Usually we see a few in June, but nada so far this year. With all the deer now down at the lower levels, I'm suprised no cats have been spotted. Lots of nice bucks hanging around..

It sure is dry here on the Island. Those last rains barely wet the surface of the soil.
