was up on the malahat today at the little lake that they gated off .left turn on shawnigan lake road . had the boys out on the quads .garbage all over the place even a beat up old motorhome

A good friend of mine remarked on the how clean the bush was around here(north thompson) a few years ago...he was from the Island...

but after discussion it became clear that primarily that was because we didn't pay up front to dump.......now the idiots are making it law and the true nature of men is being reaped.......the bush roads are already seeing dumping.

of course the hours that the dumps are open and the number of days all contribute to turning our beautiful province into a mega dump........

just the fact that the other communities are hauling trash to the smaller for dumping right now..and filling are little dumpsters at record rates cause it still seems free.......and at least not throwing it in a ditch off of a side road.

but ours as well is scheduled for closure and inevitable cumbersome hours....prices..and location.. all will contibute to our backroads being used instead.
And the insentive to gate.

your right horshur a lot of people can't afford the upfront cost here on the island . i went in to dump some cardboard and they wanted twelve dollars for a recycling fee . my brotherin law went up to the dump and they wanted to 23.00
for the size of the truck truck had just a couple of items .but even here at alpine they will charge like 40 to dump a matress then maybe a transfer fee on top of that . no wonder the roads are getting stuff dumped

Take a little drive down to the end of government street in Victoria and dump your stuff there maybe they'll take the hint??

They have dropped all the fees here at the dump in Kimberley,somebody has some sence.
