Hey Whitetail ,

I picked one up on Friday and had a chance to set it up today and check it out . I am very impressed with the quality . Looks just as good ( if not better ) than the norseman i had before . the Stiching is double and good quality . It has reinforcment patches in the areas where the frame will rub . sets up in about 20 min ( first tme ) I took the garden hose to it and tried to make it leak, paying extra attention to the seams . It is very water tight . the side walls are 52" . I did get the poles . Its got an internal ridge frame and external wall poles . The ridge frame can be adjusted for both height and length. I think that will be handy if the tent shrinks or expands . Its really solid once you get it set up and get all the ropes tightened. The poles are definetly a heavy enough guage . as a bonus they are powdercoated . I remember the poles on my Norseman we rusty and always stained the tent where they touched the canvas

for 700.00 its a fantastic deal

Cheers

Johnny

Here is some other not so positve feedback on these tents:

"I checked out the frames on Saturday. I thought they were too light and appeared a little flimsy. Made in China probably says it all.

The tents were packed away in boxes so you couldn't examine them. They are also made in China so I decided not to take a chance when I couldn't examine it while it was set up."

Take notice of who started both threads - here and there -as a brand new member.

Spend a few extra bucks and buy Canadian, from a company that sponsors this site:

Capital canvas: Home Page, high-quality, durable wall tents as well as other specialty canvas products like vehicle, airplane and helicopter covers and specialized canvas carrying cases and bags.

No, it's not all about our sponsors. Go through the forums and you'll notice that there are hundreds of links to deals and offers that have nothing to do with sponsorship.

We never take down links - unless they are obvious spam - and we didn't in your case.

Turns out the reviews of the Grizzly Tent on the other site aren't good and are far different than the one you offer.

umm are we reading the same thread : Grizzly outfitters Tents - Alberta Outdoorsmen Forum ??

I am the only poster who has actually bought one , set it up and Reviewed the whole Tent. Some guy calling the poles flimsy while only looking at them in the box hardly constitutes a not good review.

BTW i have gotten a lot of request from guys wanting pics of the tent , I took the time to take some pics and send them to them them purely because i was frustrated with the high cost of other brands and i am happy to finally see a tent more reasonably priced availabe to Albertans.

Seems to me that because Grizzly is a competitor to an advertiser on your site you are trying to discredit this tent based on heresay .

Lightbulb price

Well you didn't check the prices very much on the tents. Capital canvas -- Canadian made (Sponser) is almost exactly the same price for the tent 12x14 and they allow for a LOT of custom add ons. The poles are more by $345 so with "little" web work and a few emails you should be able to figure out which poles are the best or just go down and purchase the materials and build your own. So by no means is the grizzly tent a "fantastic deal"

BTW --- welcome to the forums
Al

Hey Johnny Trail

I have an opportunity to purchase a Grizzly Outfitters Tent at a price significantly lower then your quoted price ..... now that you have had the tent for a year can you provide any additional feedback since your positive endorsements above? Are you still happy with the product? I have been looking for a tent for several months now and would greatly appreciate any information you could provide me. Thanks in advance!
