Bill Foster

Hey, SW, I just happened to look at Monday's paper today and see a notice that Bill Foster died, your dad would have known him.

He was quite a guy.

FOSTER, William Douglas
6 June 1948 to 6 July 2011 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Bill Foster. After battling a host of serious illnesses in recent years, Bill passed away with his brother at his side while on holiday in Washington State. Bill was born in Nanaimo and raised in Coombs and Ladysmith. Bill worked in island sawmills and asbestos miines in the Yukon before finding his life long job as a transit driver in Vancouver. Bill drove trolley buses in Vancouver, regular transit buses in North Van, and later articlated buses in Burnaby. He loved those buses, the people he met, and worked with. Bills passion for photography and Motorcycles gave hiim much joy in life. Bill was predeceased by his mother Clara in 2001 and his father Norman in 2007. He is survived by his brother Robin (Susan), his neice Carly and nephew Ryan, as well as his exspouse Kimberly. A gathering of friends will take place on August 26th at 6:00 P.M. at the Burnaby Firefighters Club on Bonsor St.
