Truly amazing nowadays I had the exact p/u same year in an extended cab Z 71 and the only reason I got rid of it was an increase in family size, the best Chev I ever owned.

That is why I like to lease people these type of trucks.....

Sold my 87 to a buddy in 94 with 165,000kms on it.... he finally got rid of it in 2006 with just shy of 500,000 on it so he could buy another buddy's 04 which he is now closing in on 350,000 kms..... servicing a vehicle is a wonderful thing...... makes them last for some reason....

Amazing how that works eh? LoL

Over the years I have had several vehicles roll over a quarter-million miles and mainly because the engine oil was always changed and small problems were fixed before they became major issues.

That is a milestone moment!

I never have had a vehicle that I kept till that high a mileage. Usually it was because I had different needs as to a vehicle.

I had a 69 Datsun 1600 Roadster and a 77 Toyota Landcruiser 1 ton pick up, neither of which would accept a baby seat, so they were sold, and a 4x4 Suburban became the "family car". Least I could still go hunting in it.. Drove that till it reached approx 200k. Looking for more creature comforts on camping/hunting trips, I found a deal on a camper that I couldn't pass up, so the Suburban was sold and exchanged for a 90 3/4 ton, 4x4 extended cab Chevy p/u. Still have that, and it is still going strong after 20 years, but it's only got approx. 170k so far. With the Wife having her CRV, and my company car, I was able to keep the mileage down on the truck. At this rate I should be able to drive it for another 20 years before it hits a half million Kilometers.

Not yet ................

For now it is a BBQ, beer cooler, and comfy chair all protected from the rain and/or sun.

A get-together next summer for anyone interested is definitely a possibility as it has been a couple of years since the last one.

It looks like you're doing about 120 kmh - it doesn't take long to hit 500,000 km at that speed!

My '92 K2500 has 232,000 and has been a very reliable vehicle.

Yes I was on the "freeway" when I snapped the picture.

I just love the '88 - '95 TBI Chevy pickups. Parts are available everywhere and the prices are more than reasonable thanks to the shear number of these trucks still on the road. Mine is slated to get a new set of fenders and a grill next spring followed by a fresh coat of paint.

Congrats on the half mil mark! My 2003 Jetta TDI has 487000K's on it, original engine, & it won't be long now till I hit 1/2 mil myself.

In Kimberley, inviting a bunch of friends over to swill many beers and pee in your kiddie pool is what constitutes a "hot tub."

Careful Steady, Joe may want you to help get the Ph level right!
