Want to see your country
G'day all,
I'm an Australian and I'm looking to travel to Canada in the April to June of this year. I was wondering If I could perhaps pick your brains on good camping areas in Canada and if it was possible to meet up with a few people and see how hunting is done up there. If this was at all possible it would be great to hear from you all anyway. Thanks all for your time. |

Cheers
That's great news I was going to fly into Vancouver airport so it works out well to hunt BC. The main sight seeing attraction for me would be the Rockies so once again ideal.
In Australia we have what we call "state Forrest" and when you hold a game license for that state you can hung any state Forrest in that state as well as you can also camp in state Forest for very little to free of cost do similar laws apply to Canada? I really appreciate all your help |

In Canada you generally can't hunt in provincial parks or national parks. However BC is full of Crown land that is owned by the gov't. Your hunting licence is good for the entire province.
ow if you are going to BC this is a good site, since most of the members are from BC. Hopefully someone would allow you to tag along to observe. If you were anywhere near me I would let you sit for a evening hunt. I usually will see bears everynight on my stand. BTW I love the mountains of BC, there are several different ranges to see from the Coastal range to the Rockies.

APM, as far as camping, BC offers several options:
National Parks - Parks Canada (no hunting) Provincial Parks - BC Parks (some offer hunting) Recreation Sites - staging areas to hunt crown land from Privately operated campgrounds Each has thier perks, but if you want cheap, there are approximately 1100 free Recreation Sites in the province, plus about 100 that they do charge a fee for. Nice thing about these, is they can be off the beaten path, so no crowds. Check out Recreation Sites and Trails BC As far as the rest of Canada, yes, it is all worth seeing (except TO and Brooks AB), but you will need a lot of time. I drove across last summer and it was 80hrs of driving time. If you need more specifics, drop me a pm Starvinoverhere |
