I dont see any reason that boat would not hold out to most situations on Quesnel lake. I grew up in Prince Rupert and spent a lot of time on the outside on the Hecate straights in a 14 ft open aluminum with no problems. But then i was a kid and probably not to smart but hey never got into trouble.

Quesnel can be a very dangerous lake if you are not very carefull. The wind can come up very fast and the water can go from dead calm to 4 foot standing waves in a heartbeat. There is a LOT of equipment on the bottom of that lake!
Stay fairly close to shore and always keep an eye open and you should be OK. You should also be prepared to spend an extended period of time waiting out a storm sitting on the shore - if you can find a place to beach - if things go sideways.

And that lake is very deep, very very deep, one of the deepest in the world.
