At what age are we officially old?

The wife says I'm not old, and there for, I am not entitled to complaining about everything that goes along with aging. For instance, the first thing I do in the morning is take some joint pain relief 'vitamins'. Is that not something an old guy does? So I ask you, what age am I allowed to begin my whining and get on with my mid life crisis, because I need some new toys!

I'm not sure if this helps, but when I turned 50, my wife told me that I was no longer a "pervert". I was officially upgraded (downgraded?) to a "Dirty Old Man"

I think the boundry is about 107 . I recall my Dad had an expression concerning old age, "Yesterday I used to listen to all the old guys talkin' about their aches & pains, today I am one".

Bucked up & split a load of firewood today...yep feeling old.
I'm gonna attempt to define old age.
You know your old when...
- NHLers are retiring, and they're your age.

Whatta ya think?

Some of the popular journals concerned with the "Babyboomer's" obsession with age and mortality now state that 60 is the ...new 40...

I tend to agree, retired at 55 some 7.5 years ago and still lift, stack and split Doug. Fir green rounds weighing about 200 lbs. My old man could and did cut wood into his 80s and his hair was not grey until into his 70s, neither is mine and I feel good.

The "secret" is just calm acceptance of biological reality and a refusal to worry about getting "old". If, you WANT to do IT, whatever IT may be to you, well, "give 'er max" and get 'er done!

About the ONLY thing I miss about my youth is that the remote wilderness fire lookouts are gone, so, my favourite job is not available. I certainly do not need to work, but, the long, solo seasons in real wilderness are something I miss and would love to do again.
