Anyone go to the Nationals??
Well I'm back from the National 3D Championship in Prince George. Did anyone else here go? The course was really good, very tricky. I was fairly dissapointed in my own performance.....actually I stunk the place up, finishing about 50 points lower than my average for the year. Oh well, geuss I'll have to figure out how to get to New Brunswick next year to redeem myself! So how bout it.....did anyone here go, and how did you do?
Chris PS thanks for the archery forum Cariboo!!

Chris, I bet you had a great time. I was wishing I could have gone, but did manage to follow the results day by day. Yup, you had a tough go.
I was watching a couple guys from the region here, including Stan Nelson, who did OK. But it was his kids that had me interested. They got 5th and 6th in the cubs; pretty good little shooters. |

Canuck.....I've shot with Stan and the kids on a number of occasions, in fact we were paired up the last day of the provincials and the first day at the nationals. Those two kids can surely shoot, especially his daughter. Thats one heck of a job she did considering she was shooting one age group up from where she should have been. If she'd have shot her real category it wouldn't have even been close.

Hey Chris,
Several of our members (Saggitarius Archers) went to the Nationals and did quite well. Adien Scheer and Darren Mulrooney placed first and second respectively in the mens fingers open category and I think Loni Mancini was either second or third in the womens open. Sounds like it was a tough shoot....would have liked to been there but too much on my plate right now. Was down at the range today and have my broadheads hitting a twoonie at 40 yds. so can't wait for the mulie season to open. I'm taking my bow along with me on my sheep hunt just in case I see more deer than sheep. What are your plans with the bow for this fall? Ian

Starting out with a 6 day jaunt in region 7 starting Sept 1st. We'll be looking for immature bull moose, deer for the freezer and elk if the opportunity presents itself. In October I will be going after grizz up MacKenzie way.....still undecided as to gun or bow on that one!!! December 4-10 will be for big muleys in my honey hole....going back after the big 3pointer that has been giving me fits for the last 3 years. Everything in between will be looking for immature bulls, and muleys near home.
Good luck on your sheep hunt!! Chris
