You are a little further north than I bushrat... it doesn't open here until next week... I don't have my bow ready.. but I have some land to have a look at yet.. lots of deer sign that I have been told about, plus I am the only one with permision..

BCbowhead: the archery season ends oct 31 for most big game, then rifle until Nov 30. We can't hunt on sundays in the southern areas, so that cuts some of the time out.

The seasons depend on what animals and what areas.. but we can persure Deer, both mulie & WT, Elk, Moose, Sheep, antelope (draw only) and goat (draw only)

I need to pick up the regs and go through them to be prepared for when I do get out...

Toxic, I'm mostly west of you not too much north, I'm in Drayton.

BC bow, I can bow shoot Moose, elk, bears, whitetail and muleys without any draws within 5 mins of town, you could shoot them in town limits but they got a no hunting by-law.

Got up early and went out in the pouring rain and mud for a few hours. Nice to roam around with a weapon again. Only saw a couple muley does and a soaken bedraggled coyote. Wasn't really hunting, just scouting as I'm waiting for a WMU unit east of town to open up where the whitetail I'm after is living and thats where my bull moose draw is for also. Because of my draw i can only harvest a moose in the area my draw is for and I can't hunt the general bow season moose areas. Just nice to get out. Went by a camping area and everyone was sitting in their motorhomes and tents avoiding the downpour.

Bushrat

Bushrat,
Wondered how long you have been hunting, 100% bow hunter or do you shoot a cannon as well? How long have you lived in Drayton??
Have hunted Lodgepole and Cythia for years / bears.
Reason I ask these questions, curious your back ground and interested in asking dome questions. My eamil is mikerae@aimexfoods.com

Thanks - Mike

Hi Mike, I've been hunting for over 30 years but only 6 years with a bow since I moved to Alberta from BC where there was no bow season where I lived at the time. We have a wonderfully long bow season here and I enjoy it but I like my rifles as well. Got your PM, I will get back to you later tonight. I have to go trap shooting right now.

Went out this morning and seen a few smaller bucks but nothing I wanted or could have shot. I was pulling a sneak of three smaller bucks, not to shoot but just to pull a sneak, when I damn near swallowed my gum. I started to cough and the whole sneak went south.
