Finally home - and pooped!

In spite of BC Ferries, or whatever it's now called (a rose by any other name would still smell), we made it on and off the Island. But what a time yesterday!

Anyhoo, the Seniors Games are in the book for another year. This year's archery venue was at the Cowichan Bowmen facility just out of Duncan, a mighty fine facility, indeed. And run by great people, too!

I was relatively pleased with my shooting (well, not ALL the shots) and scraped a 2nd place finish. Winner in my age category was a well-known, fine archer from Saltspring, Greg Durward. But I managed to outlast our BCAA Technical VP, Ron Ostermeier, who got the much-coverted bronze medal.

Here's the deal : next year the games are in Abbotsford. We need MORE competitors so we can get entrenched in the scheme of things. This was only the 2nd year and we're being carefully scrutinized. Spread the word! Encourage all the archers you know who are age 55 or older to jump into the fray! Province-wide! This is a real fun event and it has the potential to grow tremendously and provide lots of publicity for the sport.

The gent in the middle is Greg, me on the right, and some of you might recognize another fine gentleman by name of Rick, from Comox, on the left.

Jack, it sounds like it was as good time and you shot well, congrads.
Now I guess it's time to dust off the broadheads and get ready for the season.

Sealevel, of that I am not sure but if Canuck2 says it is then I would have a tendency to believe him as he is a rather knowledgable fellow.

Oops! Sealevel, you're absolutely right - minimum age is 55. I guess I was having a senior's moment when I typed that. It's now corrected in the post up above too. Thanks for picking that up.
