Hi.
I rarely post but this is something different. After scaring a bunch of grouse (or making them laugh at me) over the last two seasons with my longbow, I finally killed one! It was a big Ruffed Grouse, and it sure tasted good! The hunting was fun, and quiet--not many people out during bow season. A good experience all around. This is the first animal I have ever successfully hunted, and it might as well be a big buck for all I care. I've wanted to hunt for most of my life but since I'm not from a hunting family-and haven't had too many hunting friends, I haven't been too quick off the mark in starting in on it. I only went out a few times after work last year and only went out twice so far this year. So it was nice to have some early success this year. And of course a big thanks to the bird for staying still for me.......... Trevor |

Got a couple of blues myself last week with the old bow....unfortunately lost one arrow with broadhead so expensive but tasty chicken. The goal this year is to take out a deer with the bow but don't know how often I'll get out......keep it up Trevor...hunting is like a drug...once you get hooked its almost impossible to stop or think of anything else.

Well done! Just think, that $1000 dollar chicken will probably pound for pound be the most expensive meat you will ever encounter on the face of this planet!! For that price it must be good, right!!!! Again, well done and continued success to you!

Are you using arrows with flu-flu fletching? I would carry a couple of these in the quiver just in case I saw a bird, had the shafts painted wild colors, never lost an arrow, but again it was flat land hunting, never shot one of the top of a mountain...
