Trail held its annual 3D shoot this weekend and it was up to its usual fine standard. We shot 3 courses of 15 Saturday and finished off with 2 more today. The weather was terrific - finally!
Three members of the high school club went with me yesterday and 4 today. Two of them, the experienced ones of the group, shot excellent and won their respective divisions. One even had a perfect round on a course today. The rest of the crew now has the bug and can barely wait until the next available shoot.Kudos to the Trail folks for doing a great job, all the way from setting up the courses to accommodating late entries and being generally helpful with any and all inquiries. A fine, fine weekend. |

Jack, sounds like you had an excellent weekend and the Trail people did an excellent job. Good on you for taking the students along. The knowledge and ability of the instructor is reflected in the performance of the students.
How was the turn out at the shoot? Between coaching and concentrating on your game what did you shoot? |

Oh no, the dreaded "How did you do?" question.
I'll explain it like this. What do you get 2 days in a row when you try for double points by shooting at a little foam-filled hole on a moving steel bear on a trolley? Well, one answer is a pair of shattered arrows. That, I'm afraid, made the difference between finishing well up or figuring prominently in the also-ran division. The turnout seemed pretty good, although I don't know the exact number; guessing around 70. There was over 30 in the men's unlimited, the biggest class by quite a bit. I suspect some of the Okanagan folks must have gone to the Sunday shoot in Summerland instead. I did win a cool door prize - one of them fancy pliers where you flip the handle and it's needle nose on one end and regular pliers on the other. |

That, I'm afraid, made the difference between finishing well up or figuring prominently in the also-ran division. No guts, no glory...............Been there.
