Which Heads/Tips for Grouse ?

Well I've got a couple bows(fibreglass) and don't know nothing about archery
One I've had since I was a wee little guy, a tiny little bow, very handy though
The other I aquired later on(a 25# 60" Ben Pearson ?) You Bow guys will know the ones, green Fibreglass
Anyways what I want to know is this....What arrow(head) would one use for Birds specifically grouse ? I seen tips with little wires(?) on them I'm assuming to prevent pass throughs on birds and anchor them ? Are these the ones for birds ???
Admittedly (and obviously ) I'm no Robin Hood but thought I'd like to keep the bow handy for those close up shot's on Birdies
Kinda for stocking up the Muley Camp with vittles on overnighters Don't wanna be blasting away with the Shotgun in my Muley area
I can hit a 2 litre pop bottle out to 10-15' pretty reliably but would probably limit Grouse to under ten feet, good enough for birds I figure.
Which arrows(heads /tips?) would you all recommend
Thanks for any info

Well when I was hunting with a bow you could get those type of heads that you mention. I believe has three or four spring steel prongs on it. If i remember correctly you put that on a blunt or target tip and threaded it on to your shaft? Never did try one though i'm sure it would work. Better yet take a pocket sligshot with you. nice and small and quiet too.

I have several Slingshots but unfortunately by the time I am close enough to actually hit what I'm aiming at I could reach out and grab it
The bow is much more effective for me

I'm not a bow hunter by any means but a couple years ago I had the same idea nd borrowed a bow and got some arrows, a couple with the wire loop heads, and some of the plastic varment tips... I practiced up a while and went out grouse hunting... the first grouse I saw I shot with a loop head from about 20 yards, and it started the rubber chicken dance and I was pretty happy with myself , until I went to pick it up and it few away

I kind of found if you don't hit them right with those loop heads they don't quite have the punch that the plastic blunt tips have...

as for slingshots, I can't remember how many birds'I've shot with a sling shot only to get feathers from them... I didn't bother with either bow or slingshot last season... the .308 worked just fine

Will, they are called "Judo points" and the reason for the springs is to avoid some arrow loss, they kick the arrow up as it hits the ground. Do they work? I have no personal experience. I aways used a 30-30 case on end of wooden arrow.

Not a bow hunter yet but the blunt tip idea stirred up some distant memories. When I was a young dumb kid(about 8yrs old) my friend ,who was a year older and wiser, had a bow. His Dad used to cut the target tips off and pound a flat headed nail in the tip(blunt side out ) and then weight them further with electrical tape. After getting his new set up my friend told me to run across an empty field. Like I said "young and dumb" so I agreed. I thought I was pretty fast so I figured I had nothing to worry about.
Corked me right in the temple at a full speed run and dropped me like a sack of hammers!!! I guess I wasn't that dumb as I wouldn't do it again!! I hope my son isn't as gullable as I was.

There is another head called a Snarrow. I haven't ever used one but this sounds like a good case for one. The are like a Judo but instead of having the wire hooks the have wire loops that make the head about 2" in diameter. I use Judo's with my bow and have had great luck on the chickens.
