IBEP course in Quesnel

I am trying to guage if there is enough interest to warrant getting an IBEP (International Bowhunter Education Program) course done here in Quesnel. I need a certain number of participants before the instructor will come up. The cost is $50 for the full two day course including both classroom work and "in feild" practice with 3D targets, tree stands etc. I am tentatively thinking of the week-end of June 23/24. if you are interested please contact me via email at mascqbc@telus.net

The added benefit is if we can get this course done, I and others can get certified as instructors so we have a few up here in the north making it easier to hold more courses. The government has indicated to us that more IBEP trained bowhunters would go a long way to easing their minds about opening up more liberal bow seasons.

Thanks
Chris

Hopefully it goes well for you.

I have had tried to have a course here many times, but there never seems to be enough intrest.

I am an instructor myself, but since i haven't done a course in 3 years, I have to teach one again to get re-certified.

If I was closer, I would come out to help!

Is this an official comment from The Minister or who with in the Provincial sector has made this statement. ????

It was discussed at the meeting the UBBC had with the minister and a couple top officials in the ministry. This is not an "official" position statement by the minister, it was just indicated during discussions that more IBEP certified hunters would be a good thing. They are politicians after all, they would hate to open an urban area bowhunt only to find deer with an arrow sticking out if its rump walking up on Grandma's lawn and ending up in the local paper....easier to open that season if they feel confident in the skill level of the bowhunters of the province I would think.
