.223 Brass

Just picked up a Ruger 77 Target/Varmit in .223. Cheap ammo available from my local store loaded by American Eagle (Federal"s name on the box in small print) and Winchester USA. Will the brass from these loadings be up to the usual Federal / Winchester standards or am I better off spending a few bucks on some better quality brass? I'm asking because it doesn't really have a nice brassy look but more of a utilitarian military look.T.I.A.

I have reloaded some American eagle brass in the past...it works.
However for better "consistency" I shy away from it now for reloading and stick to better stuff.
Especially for the 223, as it doesn't get any cheaper then 223 brass

The cops left enough of it at our range in one session to last me a lifetime

I've used Winchester, R-P, F-C, Black Hills match brass. All seems to work, but I use Winchester for my good hunting reloads.
