35 remington reduced loads.

Ok I have only limited knowledge reloading for this cartridge.

So what i want is a nice mild deer load that my 11 yr. old can shoot deer
with.
Range 100yds and less.

I will try cast too but my rifle is a marlin336 with micro groove barrel and am uncertain if cast shoots well enough

I have brass and dies ready so any help will be appreciated

BCBoy,
I loaded for the 35 Remington and the 356 for a spell........
One good light "Plinker" load I did try in the 35 Remmie was with 158 Grain Cast bullets

35 Rem.
*27 Grains of Reloader 7
*158 Grain FN Lasercast(.358)

Gives about 2000 fps and should thump any deer inside a hundred yards and produces virtually NO recoil.
Cheap to shoot for plinking too as I used to get those bullets in a box of 500 for about 40 bucks. Because these are "short" fat bullets.....be sure to load them to the recommeneded OAL and check for consistent feeding.

One go to load I used was with a 180 grain Speer Jacketed bullet pushed at just over 2000 fps from 36 grains of H335. This load shot very well in my Marlin and will Flatten any Deer.

Most Micro Grooved Marlins I've played with will shoot "Cast" bullets just fine if they are matched correctly to your specific bore size, some were amazing shooters too

If you give up a better idea as to the Exact Bullets you have on hand to load I may be able to look up more specific loads for you from my notes.
