For the most part ebay brass is a bit of a gamble but ask the right questions before you bid and you can get some deals.
My questions: 1) Is it range pick ups ? 2) Do they all have the same headstamp ? 3) Did you or someone you know first fire it ? Answers: No, yes and yes and ask what the sellers return policy is. I've gotten some great brass off of ebay but be careful. |

Once fired
I sold a guy on Gunnutz 80 empty 7.62x54R once-fired cases.
I know they were once fired because I fired every one of them once. I thought I had examined them all thoroughly and he reported that one was imperfect, but he was generally satisfied with the purchase.

Yet another thing to consider with buying cases off of E-Bay= Shipping from the US will kill you. ....OK here is one more.....some inspectors will not allow the shipment across the line without an import permit into Canada and an Export permit from the USA......seems that they feel that this is included in the description of Ammunition?

American border security and the war on terrorism has caused some strange twists. Canadian law allows the import of cases and bullets etc but American laws now require an export permit before these "tools of terrorism" can leave legally leave the USA.

used brass
Be careful when buying anything "used". A worn-out case can lead to a head separation which can spoil a hunt in a big way. I made myself a little gadget out of a paperclip, bent a 90degree angle on one end and filed it to a sharp point. With this you can reach down into the case and feel for an impending case head separation/crack just in front of the web. I use this on my own cases as a QI check when prepping my brass.
