copper fouling

Has anyone used 10% ammonia for cleaning bore?? I tried some Barnes bullets and my lands are coated with copper. Accubore and Hopes don't seem to touch it. Hasn't affected accuracy but I'd like to get rid of it..

My homemade copper cleaner is about 10%, I wouldn't leave it in the bore for a long period but it works great to remove the copper. I then run patches of hoppes through to get rid of all the ammonia and provide rust protection.

thanks

Local gunsmith had some wipe out. I've got a clean bore now but did the blue stuff ever come out the end of the barrel the first few treatments. Was a little messy but it really works like a hot damn.. Thanks 260...

trick is learning that you dont need much in the bore for it to fill it up and work

I just use plain household ammonia until all the blue stuff is gone then chase it down with some Ed's Red.

It's as cheap as it comes.
