Crimping Techniques

So For a reference to all people on this board. What are the Prefered Crimping techniques.

for instance.

Strait wall crimps where your doing roll crimping. what for instance is about the perfect crimp people have experienced with this type of bullet.

personally a heavy crimp on my 45-70 seems to work better than a lighter crimp.
but more specifically how much of a turn do most people find works best. this i would be interested in hearing. ( 1/6 - 2/6 turn what?).

For Necked casings. same deal. if there is a crimp ring can you see any space at all when your crimping's are done ect?

for barns TSX what is the amount of crimp you have found to work well. I have been doing 1/6th myself. so im wondering what others are doing here especially.

I don't load any straight cases but on my bottle necks I don't use any crimp. .338, 30-06, 7mm rm, even the 30-30. I just take the expander ball out of my dies and it holds well under recoil. I find it to be a nice tight grip.

So you just don't expand the necks when you deprime.. interesting.. seems smart too because its damn near impossible to remove a bullet thats been seated even with expander without wreaking it . good to keep in mind.

Why work the brass any more than you have to neck size, no expander ball and the cases seem to last longer and I seem to get a bit more accuracy, everything is tight and formed to MY chamber. Juat make sure you de-burr the inside neck fairly good so you don't shave the bullet as I said it is a snug fit.
