Gun shoots left.

I have a 2nd hand rifle that was given to me that was already drilled and tapped.

When I mounted bases and a centered scope on it then took it to the range today, it adjusted up and down fine, but with the scope dialed all the way to the end it still shoots six inches to the left.

The mounting holes are out of line, so the scope points a little to the right of centre over the barrel.

Can I get compensating rings to fit on Weaver bases? Shim the scope?

What is a solution to this problem?

Re: Gun shoots left.

There are bases/rings that may work but the rifle needs to be seen first to see if they may work. The scope tube may also bend slightly due to the offset base. I suggest that you take it to a gunsmith to have it examined and the the mounting holes properly redrilled in line. Reliable is a good place to go to. See Shane.
