Home built shooting sled..

So here is my home built shooting sled to evaluate new loads for .338wm..

did all the cutting welding and fabricatring my self well 95%..

Great idea, looking good. Are you going to put something in the V's to keep from scratching your rifle?

Yes finish grinding and sanding with emory paper and then pain it, and then "pad ' the front and rear " v "' and then a piece of leather on each..the recoil arrester on the back is seat belt material...I will post the finished product..

anyone know where to find plastic caps that fit the square tubing???I think the OUTSIDE IS 2" INSIDE FIT WOULD BE????

check out canadian tire or walmart , or even home hardware, i usually find what i need at one of the 3 places, bought some plastic caps at walmart for round tubing , and i think i remember seeing square there as well

I STILL dont know WHY I had 2 cans of this paint but it was metal paint so I used it..lol

Soon it will be range time to try this unit AND the new Sako out AND the new handloads...

How much did you spend to build this? I seem to recall the store bought sleds are around $130 and they have a heavy tray where lead shot can be placed to incease the weight of it. I've got a 416 Remington I need to do load developement for. The gunsmith here in Burns Lake has a Caldwell Sled he rents out which I think I'll make use of. Yours is a good looking unit how many hours of work did you put into it?
