Hey Montanna i load the 200gr accubond for my 300wm. Shoots good and hits hard. Only thing I don't like about the accubond is that it is a little long for my action would like to seat it closer to the lands. i would also recommend Hornady interbonds, nosler partion golds if you can find them in 180gr and NPs , failsafes in 165gr and the barnes triple shocks in 168gr & 180. As for powders I have used IMR 4831, 4350, Hodgens H-1000. Best results were with IMR 4831. There are probably better powders out there and for sure way more people with experience that will add to your post. Welcome to handloading, have fun

I load Sierra 220 gr. roundnoses for my "big bullet" load
70 grains of IMR4831 (Rem cases, WLR primer) and get almost 2800 fps out of my 24" Savage. I'm not sure what the OAL is (I'm 800 km away from my loading records), but it is seated to just fit the magazine. This is a max load, work up to it carefully! Consistantly gives less than 1" @ 100 yds. Best has been .290" 3 shot group. Loaned the rifle to a friend for his bear hunt last spring, he got his bear at 260 yds through the shoulders and no bullet recovered. Bang-flop! |

300WM Reloads
With my Sako m75SS 300Wm, the load for my rifle is 74.0gr of RL-22 (max. is 76.0 but my rifle didnt like it over 75.0) using Federal 215Mag Primers and 180gr Accubonds using Winchester brass for load developement and Winchester Supreme nickel brass for hunting loads. Shoots well under 3/8" 5-shot groups @ 100m
Use this load for all my big game - moose, elk, deer, bear. |
