Need help with some load data

I've got some .308 cal Barnes XLC bullets, 150 gr. and want to use them in my 30-06 with Varget. I haven't been able to find anything that has load data for such (checked the Barnes and Hodgdon sites, very little there, and the only reloading manual I've got is the Modern Reloading 2nd Ed.

Anyone got anything?

Use 150gr data, and work up...

Check your chrono for excessive speed.

You may want to look at getting one, primers arent' reliable indicators.

I see Boo has posted the info, so you should be good, anyway.

As Gatehouse said....primers are poor indicators of high pressures. You really need to mic near the web of the casing with a good mic capable of measuring to 10 thous. Fire some factory loads in your rifle preferably 3-5 and measure at the web. Fire your loads and measure each load, if you get expansion measuring more that 1/2 of a thousands of an inch....you are getting too hot. Keep in mind what you are loading for too....the 30/06 in a factory loading is mild as it has to fit alot of old rifles that aren't capable of handling todays high pressure loads.....so work up slowly and LOOK carefully for signs of excessive pressure.

You can also contact Barnes and they will more than likely suggest a good load for you

Thanks all, and yes, a chrony is on my wishlist, among other things... but still new to reloading and could only start with so much.... then the gun shops around here started carrying strange stuff for components before going belly-up (probably linked).

again, thanks.
