Ranger Shotgun

Hi

I have a single barrel Ranger shotgun, full choke with a 30" barrell. After doing some research I have found out it was sold through Sears in the 20's & 30's

My problem is I'm not sure what it is chambered for? ther are no stampings other than 12 guage, full choke and a serial number #46014, If anyone has a spec for this I'd very grateful

thanks

Keith

It should be chambered for 2 3/4" shells but dependant on age- these were made from 1915 to 1930 - it could possibly be chambered for the old 2 9/16" cartridge. A trip to the gunsmith to measure the chamber would be in order before shooting it.

BTW, your shotgun was built by Savage/Stevens and were made under Browning's patent

thanks

I kind of suspected that for chambering but I think I'll take into a gunsmith to confirm.

I might also look at the Savage/Stevens website to see if I can find anything.

Again thanks
