Trimming cases

Hello I'm new to handloading, I have a full rcbs reloading kit.
I am reloading my .444 malin it uses a 3 stage dye set which I have.
The problem: when I resize my bullets the cases measure 2.225 inches
hornady says case trim length should be 2.215 inches
Max case length hornady says is 2.225

what does this mean is this adjustable during resizing?

I figured out how to resize, prime, powder, expand the case mouth,
seat the bullet and crimp just wanted to clarify this

any help would help.
P.S. I have factory loads for moose hunting in 2 weeks just in case.

good luck hunting

Not sure if I understand what you are saying.

Typically most reloaders will trim their cases 10 thousands of and inch shorter than max overall length. Several reasons for this. One it ensures that the case will feed reliably, but most do it as an indicator of when to throw out the case.

Trim it once 10 thousands under max, then when it stretches to the max case length, time to start looking at the casing to see if it has stretched too much to be used again.

Make sense?

Trimming under max length is what I do as well.

1) Resize
2) trim and chamfer inside/outside to remove burrs
3) Prime
4) powder
5) bullet

To save time I have a dummy casing I keep that is the exact length I want. I use it to set my trimmer next time I use it.
