Question Your favorite rifle?

With our semi-annual Remington 710 bashing complete what is your favorite make and model of rifle?

Mine is without question the Winchester Model 70 Classic. Better gas-handing capabilities than the original "Pre-64" Model 70s and much better fit and finish than the Post 1964 - 1980 models. Great fully adjustable triggers. Good barrels. CRF actions for those of us that prefer them. Reasonable prices and now with them being discontinued they are starting to be "collectible"

For me it is my Winchester Mod 70 Classic SS in 375H&H .
I do almost all my hunting with this rifle , I am very familier with it , it is well balanced , great trigger and it will print an inch all day long .

just carrying it makes me happy

All time favourite? Man, too hard to call for me. Hardly a gun out there I don't like on at least some level.

Of the ones I own? That's easy - my CZ Varmint in 17HMR. I like it so well, I'm seriously considering giving up both my Enfield and my Winchester Model 88 and getting a CZ 550 in (probably) 308.

My favorite is a .35 Whelen built on a early 50's FN Mauser action. The barrell is a #2 profile Douglas Premium with a 1:12 twist and 23" length. The trigger is a Timney and the safety is a M70-style 2 position. The scope is a Leupold VariX-II 2-7X33. The stock is walnut and the metal finish is slow rust blue.

The rifle feeds so smoothly that there are times I wonder if a round actually chambered. It extracts/ejects without flaw.

It will consistantly shoot sub-moa if I do my part and 225's at 2700+fps and 250's at 2600 fps are routine with sub-max loads.

It is well balanced and handles like a wand.

All in all, I really like the rifle......but

I've just completed a 9.3X62 to which I could really become attached. We'll see.

make mine a Remington 700, I just plain like em!

easy to get them to shoot great, and lots of options for aftermarket goodies

X2 what 260rem says.
I have yet to find a mdl700 I can't get to shoot under MOA @ 100yds with simple barrel floating, trigger lightening and handloaded ammunition.Always looking to add another 700 to my collection.RB

Cool

Mine is an Old Beat up Model 1893 Marlin Rifle in 30-30 with a 26" barrel
Sure I've got "Better" looking and performing ones but they weren't used by my Mother to shoot her 1st deer with
It's one I won't be selling anytime soon

As far as Favourite make.......if you'd asked me last year I'd have said the Model 70 as well.
Now that I'm onto my 2nd Remmie 700 though they are Fast becoming my Favourite for the Reasons already mentioned

I'm a remington m700 man to the bone, IMO you can't beat the m700. The model 7 is a trooper too but I don't have one of those. Doesn't matter what caliber, it'll shoot, they're all good.

A pre-Garcia Finnbear 338WM,lightest,most accurate,best fitting,and prettiest rifle I own.Most used is a '64 M-70 30.06 with a XRT stock,it's on it's third stock refinish.

My first rifle was M-700 BDL 30.06,which I still have. It's lighter than the M-70,has a good enough stock shape for a 270/243,accurate but fouls easily. The trigger by design isn't as good the open M-70 for a hunting rifle.I think the M-700 action is the best looking one out there.

My favourite is the Ruger MKII stainless - I have a few rifles in this action and like them all. There is nothing fancy or exciting about this action, but it is rugged and reliable without breaking the bank.

Make mine a Winchester Mdl70 Classic as well..And a clse second, the Ruger Mk II

And I want them in stainless, too.

I'm not a big fan of Remington Md 700, although I use one for my coyote gun.

Just like Gatehouse.....

Except I am a big fan of my Remington Md 700 though!

I have replaced one of my Win Model 70's with a SS Rem 700 and the more I shoot it the more I like it!

I don't own one but I think I would have a laminate stock on my favourite rifle as well.
