Adams River - rainbow trout

A buddy and I got a few nice trout at the mouth of the adams river where it dumps into Shuswap Lake. Real stinky there with all the dead sockeye. We used egg patterns and muddler minnows (flyfishing). Was wondering if any flyfishermen fish further up the river at this time of year. We tried briefly by the highway bridge without success but it was getting late by then and we were pretty tired out. It blew pretty hard and was darn cold most of the day. The river is pretty intimadating when you've never fished it before. How late can one keep expecting to catch fish at the mouth of the river or will it wind up pretty soon?........................Tom
