A day ice fishing with the boys

Just thought I'd post these of my two boys and grandpa ice fishing up on the Nehalston. A bitter cold wind made it a little "Trying" can't take young kids anywhere with out a few tears but we got my youngest up to the firepit dad brought and warmed up enough to melt his boots and Will figured he "just may not die of freezing" Fishing was pretty slow but we caught enough for supper and a big one for a chowder. Good day for sure.

The snow does not look too deep on the lake, is that because the snow has formed into ice and what is the thickness of the ice?
Seems that the little fellow's feet warmed up once he roasted the boots.
