Elk Lake?

Looking for info on Elk Lake just out of McLeese. Thinking of maybe camping there and doing some fishing during the deer season. Anyone got info on the fishing and Mulie situation there?

The lake winter killed a couple of winters ago and the fishing now is quite slow from what I have heard.

No shortage of mule deer in the area along with a few whitetails. More and more Elk are showing up around there too so be sure that monster mulie you have the rifle on isn't an elk.

Thanks for the reply. Looking for a lake other than Forest to check out down that way. I guess it'll be Forest unless you know of another comparable?

Where would Jackson be? I cant find any info no the net about it.
Ok, found it on Toporama. Turn right just before Elk. Any info on camping spots, whether its a drive to lake or how accesable, size. You know all the usual stuff a guy wants to know on a new lake.

Barryl, Jacksons hole is a nice site, there are 4 treed sites, as well as an open field area as you first come into it.

The fall fishing can be good, I had some great fun on Boatman patterns last Sept.

As far as hunting, I passed on 3 spikes just across the road from Jacksons, so they are in the area.

Good to hear. I guess weather permitting we'll be in there evening of the 16th or morning of the 17th. If things look good should be able to be back for mulie season. No laws against having a rifle on a pontoon boat as far as I know of.

Barry, last fall I had the weekend to myself, loaded all my hunting gear, got a plan to go for it. Next afternoon, weather was pushing 20 degrees, so I quickly slipped home to WL and switched the hunting gear for fishing gear and had a great day.

If your coming to that area to hunt, may as well bring a boat of some kind.

If you need any information on any of the rec sites from Quesnel to 100 mile, drop me a line, I am in the business.

Thank you muchly Starvin! I'll be picking your brain this fall then for sure cause I got the LEH for doe in 5-14 again. I was in there a few years ago and spent the whole day and didnt see diddly. Then that evening that huge wind storm came in and blew the world to hell. Guess they had enough brains to hole up. The fiance' is from the puddle so we get down there a fair bit. Ive no doubt you know her family.
