fishing in northern Alberta
I'm heading off to the Swan Hills area of Alberta in a few weeks to see my son who is tree planting there. We are hoping to do a little fishing on his day off and after hours. I've never fished there before. Any advice on good places to fish would be appreciated. Slave Lake for example - decent fishing or not? Are we talking Lake Trout or grayling in northern Alberta? Would you find rainbow trout and/or brookies there?
Thanks, Pablo

Thanks for the info, Powderburns. I'll give your advice a shot. Being a BC boy, I've never fished for walleye or pike before, so it will be interesting if we hook into something. Sawmill, you are probably thinking of Greater Slave Lake in the NWT which is quite a ways from the Swan Hills. I'm referring to Lesser Slave Lake which is only an hourish drive north of the Swan Hills, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Happy fishing.
