Fishing rod

When it comes to buying a fishing pole, you need to consider a few
factors to make sure you purchase the best fishing rod for your skill level.

A spinning rod is great for freshwater or saltwater fishing and should 5 to 6 feet long. Graphite fishing rods are preferable to fiberglass rods
because they are light, stronger and more sensitive. If you are just starting out, get a cheap rod ($40-$80) and see if you like fishing, then
you can always upgrade once you get the hang of it.

What kind of fishing rod are you using? how much you spend for a fishing rod and other fishing tools?

I mostly use a fly rod. A cheap one $50. Catches fish just like a expensive one.

Depends on where and what you're hunting!

Go-To rod for the river is a Custom Rogue 12 footer, about $ 1,200.00 to replace. Coupled with an Islander Steelheader Centerpin - around $ 400.00 or so. Funny that I arrive at the flow with a truck worth about 500 clams!

Ocean rods: Islander MR2's and MR3's. Pricey. I prefer Shimano's Technium rods, not too pricey (~ $125) but sensitive and damn tough! Even the clients have yet to break one!

Fly rods? Too numerous and pricey to get into.

Overall fishing gear value is about 12K, and that doesn't include any of the boats! Just don't tell The Missuz!

Cheers,
Nog
