Kawkawa

I took the little boat out to Kawkawa yesterday with the GF and the dog. Never been to this lake before, it's pretty amazing how it's tucked neatly into Hope.

We heard there is decent fishing in this lake for Kokanee but didn't find any, only one small rainbow that we released. Dragged micro leeches, a wedding band/worm and the classic pots and pans with a dick nite.

Anyone have experience that this particular lake or with Kokanee in general they can share?

Wait until we've had a week of warm weather.
I've had days in May where we've hooked 50 fish in an afternoon.
If you hit it right, you can't keep them off.
As for April, troll the top 15 feet of water after 11 AM on a nice day.

Awesome, thanks Robert.

Do you ever get them on flies or just trolls/bait?

Usually wedding band and worm for trolling.
Also something that works well early season is fishing chronies in the top 15 feet of water really slow.

Chronies for Kokanee eh? I'll give that a shot next weekend, going to head back for the day.
