While Cariboo wasn't looking I snuck in a fishing forum!!

I'm headed up to Kyuquot on Friday to fish for 4 days. I usually fish out of Bamfield so there will be a bit of a learning curve with this trip.

I've heard great things about Kyuquot, lots of salmon, decent water on the inside (and great fishing outside of course) and tons of bottomfish. Has anyone here fished the north coast of the Island?

Fished this area lots!
Where are you staying? In Kyuqot? or down in fair harbour? I have never stayed in town but have stopped in for supply's and such many times.
You picked the right time to go as a buddy of mine is there right now and he says it's been arm burning.

We are staying with one of Murphy's guides, Rolly. He apparently has a place 10 minutes from Murphy's lodge in Kyuqot.

I'll be dragging up my 17' boat so hopefully the weather stays decent and the fish are on the inside!!

No Coho have made it into Winter Harbour yet and only starting to hammer the Springs at regular intervals as of the weekend of the 22nd/23rd. Last year on this weekend we couldn't get through the Coho to get to the Springs, was nuts. Little south but same general area.
