My daughter's 3rd fish of the day, and she is starting to get tired.

Nice pickerel!

If your daughter gets tired of them you can ship 10 pounds of fillets south! LoL

Fresh walleye!, c'mon spring!, when the walleyes are biting they are a great fish for kids your daughter did very well she will never forget that. Will be fishing at least 3 possibly 4 provinces myself this year, B.C. with srupp, local lakes here, Candle, Tobin, Canoe in Saskatchewan and maybe Manitoba.

Hey 'boo, I could try to send some fillets, but my kids keep a pretty close eye on any we keep, and eat them almost as fast as I can fillet them.

Srupp, most people I know don't think there is a difference between Pickerel and Walleye. The fish in this lake, as you can see are a golden color, but if you try fishing in the local rivers you will catch the same type of fish, but they are almost silver in color. I think that they are one and the same, but I am no expert.

If any of you guys are in the area, and have time to kill, give me a ring. Pickerel fishing is only a 40 min Jetboat ride away

An hour!!!! Is that all you'll be able to stand with me on the boat! I don't fish for an hour I fish for days and days!!!! Not sure what is happening this year as my buddy wants to go to the Island to fish the ocean. I am thinking though that I am still heading out that way or a week or so. Does Susan like kids??? Might bring them along with the fiancee as Conrad wants to catch a salmon and is always asking me to take him Salmon fishing here. I keep telling him he has to cast along waysfrom here to catch salmon.

Rock Doctor, I've worked around the Maxhamish park along time ago is the only way in to the lake by jetboat? Not that I'd ever do it any other way. Sure want to bring the boat up there for a trip one of these years. Would like a local to go with tho. Had a friend who wreked his boat up on the Tuchodi a couple years ago due to a variety of things the main part was inexperience.

Mountianman,
The Pickerel I spoke of 40 min away by boat are at the mouth of the Snake river (runs into the Muskwa)
It might be possible to Jetboat into Max, but you would have to jump about 1000 beaver dams. Actually I have always wanted to try it.
The only ways into Maxhamish in the summer is by ATV or you can fly in. If i'm going solo I quad it, but if the family is coming it's easiest to take the Argo. Usually takes between 1 and 2 hours by ATV, but I have seen it take as much as 6 hours one way, depends on the rain, and time of year. It's always alot of fun.
Feel free to get ahold of me, if you are in the area, If I'm home I'm usually up for a boat ride

Walleye fillets

Ah C'mon Srupp..I thought that BC Trout was the only fish and you were giving me a hard time about Walleye not being worthy!!

It was Slave Lake Walleye Steve. You should taste it just a few hours after it is pulled from the Lake ,seasoned and still hot coming of of the Griddle cooked in "Hot" Grapeseed Oil.

SX2,
Nice fish, I have seen a few that big from around here, but the norm is from about 3-5 lbs. The biggest that I have seen was 17lbs, but that was brought up through the ice by some of the local "First Nations" members.

Also, a friend was out last weekend, on the ice, and cought a nice 47" northern pike. No pics of that one though. I never saw the whole fish, just the fillets.
