Sturgeon Fishing Report

Well I made it back from the mighty Fraser in pretty decent shape.
Day 1 We made it to Chilliwack and ended up taking the boat out for a quick run on the river. Ends up Thomas was there with a customer. Boat ran good. Got a hotel for the night and had a few drinks.
Day 2 We figured we would try out the steelheading. Beautiful day on the river but we just couldn't find any fish. So off to Langley we head.
Day 3 We hit the ocean for a bit off salmon on the chuck but they had different ideas and we ended up with only 2 little cod which got let go.
Day 4 Met up with Leaseman for a few lessons on sturgeon fishing. Hooked and landed one fish running about 36". We then got the call that Mr.Rupp had run into a few truck problems and wouldn't be joining us
Day 5 Met up with Thomas and Mike at the Mission boat launch and headed out for the day. Hooked a good fish on the first set of the day and he came off in about a minute. We had action at every spot that we stopped at and ended up hooking and landing 2 more about 36".
Day 6 Headed back out for the day with no guides. We had been given lots of information on where to go and what to look for and ended up hooking and landing 2 more still just babies but still a good time.

Then I started for home.

I got to say though that Mike and Thomas are some of the guys going!!!
Big thanks to Mike for the use of his gear, knowledge, good conversation and the refreshments he supplied
Big thanks to Thomas for the bait he supplied, bringing the second boat, knowledge and skill on setting up

These guys I would recommend to anyone for knowledge, honesty and being excellent all around good guys!!!!

If you are ever in the Grande Prairie area make sure you get ahold of me and I'll be buying the beers and helping in anyway I can.

Pictures will follow once I get them here.

Springer and SX2 sorry I never called when I hit Red Deer, I tried to send you guys a pm but I don't know if it went through or not. I lost my phone the first day on the river and all my numbers with it Not much of an excuse I know.
This summer for sure we will hook up for a beverage and some B.S.

throw your but on westjet in the fall and we will make the day worthwhile, the fishing definatly slowed when you showed up, come fall its a little more consistant. I can pick you up any morning at the airport as I am 4 minutes away, hook up a boat and we can be on the water in an hour..

Joe it was nice meeting you and the gang you brought along..
