Tagged Out....My Season is Over

Tagged out yesterday on whitetail deer
Tried to get onto Mr Big again but he slipped into his sanctuary where I dont have permmision to hunt.He will be there now until January.I guess they dont get that big by bein stupid....lol
Had this nice basket 3x3 jump out of the bush at about 175 yards and my girl barked and he was down.



After loading him up I walked up and over a few miles of terrain to see if I could fill my doe draw tag.Jumped quite a few mule deer but no sign of whitetails within shooting distance.
While sitting to have some lunch and do some glassing close to where I shot the buck I noticed some movement out near where the gut pile was,this little yote stepped out and gave me a clean shot with the 22-250.He was obviously attracted by the magpies.



After a bit of a mid day nap and a discussion with the local CO I looked over and saw a flash of movement in the long grass about 250 yards out.I guess this little bitch was looking for her friend and stepped out on an outcropping.
The 22-250 barked again and I had another tail for the garage wall.



I new this particular spot was real close to where the whitetails liked to bed down and come through as a staging area before heading out into the alfalfa to feed at dark.Just as it was getting dim and the light was fading a group of does stepped out of the brush and started towards me.This big girl stopped broadside at 275 yrds.The 25-06 barked again and it was all over.



Got her loaded up and made it home to hang both in the garage a little later than anticipated.Needless to say I am somewhat stiff this morning.

Butchered the deer today....big job.Not too bad, after everything 85 pounds of clean meat from both deer. Lost almost one full front quarter from the buck due to bloodshot.
