Advice for and elk hunt

My son and I are planning an elk hunt next season for when he finishes his 4 in the military. Spend about a week in the wall tent and it dont matter if its a 3 point or 6. A couple antlerless would do if nothing else. Just some enjoyable time together like we used to do. Any suggestions on a good are would be greatly appreciated.

Region 4 is a good area especially around the Cranbrook area.
If you have never hunted Elk before you would be surprised at the weight of a hind quarter.....and heat was an issue this past September.
If you keep the hide on, this will help the meat from spoiling so fast in the heat (hint).

Your in PG, Chetwynd / Dawson Creek would fit you nicely. 3pt bull elk, cows open on the 15th of sept, spike fork moose & tri palm & 10+ per side open, deer with a bow....and only a short 3/4 hour drive.
