advice and Frame for wall tent needed

Afternoon,

I have had a little luck, was able to find a
wall tent, and although not exactly what I had hoped to get, the condition and price dictated the purchase. I am very happy to have it. The canvas is in near new condition, the sod cloth is new...

12.5 oz Canvas,
9 x 12 x3.
Does not have stove hole.
Did not come with poles or frame.

So I could use some advice for the poles, stove & vent care and attention, cleaning or waterproofing... anything I should consider etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

CJ.

Is it a Woods Prospector by chance. I have one but its a 10X12 with 3 foot walls. I would bet yours is a 10X12 too as a 9X12 is kind of a odd size.

If it is a Prospector tent you can get poles for it at Surplus Herbies In Kamloops. They consist of a bunch of 3 foot poles for the sides. These have to have a sort of guy rope from the top of the pole to the ground away from the tent. The only other pole is one that runs down the middle and down to the ground. Like an upside down U.

Mine also came with no hole for the wood stove. You have to buy it separtly. Basically a piece of canvas (2ftX2ft) that gets sewn into the roof where ever you want. It has a ring made of asbestus cloth or whatever theat rope type stuff they use as a gasket for wood stove doors. It also has a flap with ties so you can close the whole when not using the stove.

Hope this helps you out.

Alex

How does the 10 x 12 work for you with the 3' walls. Where do you put the stove?
Mine is a Prospector, from the 70's in new condition, but it is a 9 x 12 x 3 with 12.41oz canvas.
Curious to hear how yours works for you.
Jim.
