BC residents read up!! Ultimate Fishing Town Contest

HiYa Folks,

Dunno if ya'll are following this one, so thought I should post:

BC is in the run of it's life over deciding which Town in the entire Country deserves the Title of "Ultimate Fishing Town". Both OnTerrible and Manitoba are working HARD to beat us with their entries, going so far as to use the media and their governments to publicize a "loop-hole" that allows people to send their Email addresses in to put on a list. Then they have folks who sit at their computers all day, all night, 24-7 slamming those absentee votes in - all in an effort to bring BC down!

We here in the West KNOW we are the Best! We don't cheat like the competitors, and yet we have managed to stay near, on on top (barely) of the Game.

This is an extremely close race, and it looks like those with less morals, and higher populace and NOTHING in the way of fishing in comparison may topple our bid! OUCH! The slough-sharks taking out Salmon and Halibut? Say it ain't so!!

YOU can Help if you want to see our Beautiful Province recognized for what it is! You can not only vote every 12 hours, but pass this along to your Friends, Family and Contacts to do the same! It would certainly be Most APPRECIATED!

We still have a chance here folks! Collectively we can show the entire Nation that British Columbia is IT when it comes down to actually Fishing!

Sheesh! Looks like their underhanded tactics may actually pay off. They are again well ahead of us. Appears they now have a good handful of folks who stay up all night to punch those thousands of absentee votes in as they manage to catch us pretty well every night now.

Still got a fighting chance for Honesty and Real Fishing to persevere, but it's gonna take a LOT of help at this juncture.

Unfortunately in my case work (fishing for a living that is) has once again reared it's head. I am off to the Briney today, so won't be able to bump this up for the balance of the Contest. About 6 days and change left to go now, but I will be away for all of that and perhaps a tad more.

I hope someone here will step up to the plate and remind the Folks here and elsewhere to vote. To vote every 12 hours, and to get as many others online with that as you can Please!

I'll be mightily embarrassed should I get back from Fishing only to discover that some little back-water in OnTerrible has stolen the Title from the Best Fishing Province there is! If that happens I guess I might find some consolation in the fact that at least we gave them a good run, and did so by Playing Fair. Ummm... Nope, simply can't stand the thought of being whupped by them or their tactics...

Please folks, stay on top of this one, and bring the Fishing title home to BC!

With their underhanded tactics, BC is going to need all of the support it can muster to pull this one off! Currently they pass us by the 9:00 am mark every day! If that happens on the Final Day (less than a week now) the title will go to OnTerrible! OUCH!

Appears the WFN site is SWAMPED! Slow, but you can still get in if you have just a little patience...

News Flash: It appears either the voting site was hacked in order to favor Nestor Falls, or the WFN itself rigged the voting. My thought is the former. They have shut the site down for a day while they try to get it worked out.

IMHO should they discover the site was hacked by someone in Ontario, their submission should be given the boot as a consequence!

Don't abandon ship here Folks! Please remember to vote and vote as often as you can when the site is back up. With any Luck at all, the Honest approach will still carry the day!

Managed to recover some of the lost ground, but this has certainly become an Extremely close race! Methinks BC still very much has a chance here... Four days left to go....

Does BC have what it takes to pull off a Victory here? A lot of Folks seem to think so!
We can do this, but it will take some pretty serious effort to carry the day! Vote as often as you can, and if you know someone who currently isn't voting, now would be the time for a gentle reminder...

The cycle that has developed was repeated once again over night.
Over the course of the day we manage to collect about a 3 to 3.5 thousand vote lead on them.
Then they respond as their proxy list voters arise, and they cut the lead down to nothing, then pass us by in the early morning hours.
This has now happened several days in a row, and very much appears to be the pattern now.

It is more than a little dangerous for us out West to assume this pattern will hold!
I have a strong suspicion they are lulling us into believing that is all they are capable of, and that this is very much amongst their intentional tactics to take us down. If they have a "reserve bank" of Emails and/or voters in the wings, they could easily out-run us when they call that into play on the Final Day (or two). Perhaps that's the conspiracy seeker in me, but I can't help but think that given the way they have played this game so far, that they don't have a plan for defeating us at the last moment. Actually have to hand it to their organizers, thus far they have worked the system hard and with focus, managing to stay right on us at every juncture...

So now if we are to carry this, there are a couple of strategies we should consider:

- Of course maintain our voting pressure. Try to convince as many others to join us as is possible, we could REALLY use some additional support here. Should for whatever reason you or your Buddies not be able to get your own votes in personally, shoot me a PM or E. I will provide the contact information for one of our organizers that will ensure your vote gets counted. This would have to be done ASAP as I am departing for the Coast in a matter of hours...

- Ensure your votes are in before 2:00pm today, and 2:00am tonight, and the same for the next couple of days. We will need all that we can pour into it before the 2:00pm Deadline on Thursday September 30th. On that Final Day, make damn sure your vote is in on time!

Watch closely now Folks! We are down to the wire, and this is an extremely tight run! Our competition has proven themselves as very worthy adversaries! They are poised to pull out all the stops, and take the Title off to Ontario. Our mission of course is to try and prevent that, and ensure that the Title instead goes to the Best Fishing Province in Canada - British Columbia!! This will take all we can muster at this point.

The weather has once again broken offshore, and of course I must answer the call. I am off again this afternoon, and will be so until after the Contest closes. I have misgivings wandering away at this point, but must ensure my family is housed and fed. It is after all, what I do - Fishing!

The Very BEST of LUCK on this one Folks! Although concerned at this point, I very much do feel comfortable leaving this matter in your very capable hands! I am hoping, and looking forward to the distinct possibility of a Major Victory Celebration upon my return. Should that Happy Event come to be, there will be significant lead time, and Invites to the Show for all!

The peeping Tom in me has noticed that Nestor has gone to another town in the contest for support when the contest winds down in the final hours. Seelys bay isnt buying it tho as they are not done yet. Here is a quote :

While we await the Final Answer from Those Who Judge, a major Victory Celebration is in the planning.
