bent barrelitus
Took my old (35 years old) 7mm Rem Mag in to the gun shop today and it has a bent Barrel
I had issues with this rifle just before I got hurt. Other than Elmer Fudd I have never even seen a bent barrel. Any ideas on how it got that way? It was not dropped and I didn't use it to pound in tent pegs or anything. Anyway it's getting a new one -- figure if I can have a new metal leg it can have a new barrel. ![]() Al

Bent barrels are great for shooting big bucks that hide behind trees.
![]() Could be the barrel heated up during a sight-in session and warped? That's the only thing I can think of that would cause it besides blunt trauma.

bent
I didn't ask how much just get a new one -- can't get my aquisiton permit for another 6 months (don't ask it involves my X-Wife) so I am stuck for a deer rifle last time I shot a deer with the 300 wtby I took its head clean off. I paid 800 bucks for it 35 years ago so it doesn't owe me anything. I will post the price when I pay for it -- got muzzle brake on the new barrel.
I honestly think Elmer Fudd did it never really had any sight in problems that required more than 3 to 6 shots to zero it. Al

Turbo, a bent barrel is normally caused when someone fires several rounds from a gun, barrel is now hot, then that person leans the gun against a wall or table while they go fetch a beer from the cooler.

Sorry to break it to you BUT I have NEVER mixed alcohol and shooting. I have seen up close what bullets do to game animals.
