Talking 'Boo's 2010 moose hunt

After a week and a half of hard hunting here is the result.

Hunting the top of the world.

Replanted lodgepole pine seedlings doing well.

As he dropped.

210 grain Barnes TTSX exit. I shot the moose at ~200 yards and the bullet was launched at 2800 fps.

338-06 strikes again! BSA Royal Featherweight with B. King barrel.

Yes sir that is one nice bull, congrats! Nice shot too, as you won't loose much meat to impact damage.

I like them best at that size, as the meat is not tough, yet you still get a good supply of it. Plus they are easier to handle..

congrats

congrats on the swamp donkey. We hunted 5-13a for two full weeks and hunted hard, but to no avail. Saw one bull that was about 1km away.
Skunked. The must have smelled that LEH in my pocket.

Did you hunt that area from the south end of the zone (Hwy 20), or from the Nazko end? That zone usually has been a good producer, although all my experience has been mid to late October..Sorry to hear of your lack of success, that sucks, now you may have to wait several years to get another moose LEH..or not..as it seems..I know my LEH luck for moose has really been bad..

Local. It's no secret where I do most of my hunting, Skeleton Valley. Once you get off the main roads there are hundreds of square miles of great hunting areas. RCG and I spent a few days in there a few years ago chasing a moose in the snow. Sniper 58 and I also hunt the area for Sharptail grouse which inhabit most of the cut-blocks.

~480 pounds now hanging in the willow tree.

Entry wound. Note the skillful placement between the ribs. LoL

Exit wound, once again between the ribs.

Recoved 210 grain 338 calibre Barnes Tipped Triple Shock. (TTSX) from coup de grâce

So much for those that say the Barnes don't open up. Looks like a pretty good example of the performance I'm getting out of them.
