can i upgrade my youth firearms licence to full PAL

Hi i am about to turn 18 in a couple weeks and someone told me if i have my youth firearms licence i can upgrade to the full Pal without having to take any kind of test. Is this true?

Looks like you just apply via a form to acquire it.

From the RCMP website:

Turning 18

Once they turn 18, individuals will no longer be eligible for a minor’s licence. Instead, they must apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) and pay the applicable fee. Currently, the fee applies only to the first PAL as fees to renew a licence or modify licence privileges are waived
