Crawfish?

The river is flowing pretty hard the last few days after the heavy rains, but I was thinking when it calms back down I wouldn't mind trying for a meal of crawfish.

In the summer my Grandson's seem to do pretty good with simple dip nets, but the water is warm enough to wade, not so at this time of year. I do have prawn traps, but wasn't sure if they would work.

Anybody have a sure fire way of catching crawfish, or tips they can offer?

I use prawn traps and cat food in my spot. I do pretty well. My partner and I got 38 on a trip last year.
