Without question the Partition would be the best choice with bear and moose on the menu.
Other good choices would be a Barnes TSX, Swift Sirocco, Nosler E-Tip, and Nosler Accubond.

personally for moose I would be more inclined to load a hornady 162 grain

I have used a 280 Rem and a 7X57 for the last 30 years. I have shot 140 gr partitions and 139 gr SSTs in both. Both bullets group sub-MOA in my Ruger 77 Mk I rifles and both have produced one-shot kills on WT Deer, Mule deer, moose and black bear. No animal has required a second shot to put it down but there have been a few Coup de grace shots. All this to say pick the bullet that groups best in your rifle and use that. My 7X57 prefers the Partition and one of those through the lungs has been fatal on two immature bull moose, over 20 whitetails and two 200# plus black bears. Just another opinion!!
Good Luck!! Shoot Straight!! Ted |
