Hunting area burning

the area we fly out of on our moose fly in trips is burning..the Swan Lake fire..currently the largest fire in B.c did not burn the guides /outfitters base camp but several out camps 15-30 mile away have been lost..including the cabin Tim and I stayed in on HIDDEN lake that I wrote about and showed the wonderful moose racks last Oct. ... at the current rate of burn and lack of interest ..because there are no homes in its path it COULD hit Teslin lake..Damn!But it will be great moose habitat in say 4 years.....

I am off to Terrace in the morning for 3 weeks...and our friend from this forum..Springer..from Alberta is flying into Terrace on Monday nite for a week of Chinook salmon fishing with my familly.
I heard from a friend yesterday he has caught 4 large fish this week...largest 46 pounds .. and released 3 others..

see you guys and gals in a few weeks..by then I will be able to see my successful grizzly LEH

That I will be there overnite is for certain....and Im pretty sure of the dates but Im at work tonite and dont have the exact date...nor which hotel my wife booked for me ....

Ya hopefully this year Ill land Walter..last year I played or more correctly Walter played me for 10 minutes before he left with all but 15 yards of over 350 yards of 50# test..I seen the fish and so did 40 or so others annd he was over 70 pounds..but no cigar...
It sure fills in the time after spring bear and prime flyfishing but before fall deer season starts

Check those days and see what your schedule is and send me a P.M

July 5th is here.

Well Elmer the time has finally come and i will get on the plane/planes tomorrow and head out to meet up with the Legendary Hunter and Salmon fisherman ,,,Steve Rupp.

The bags are packed and my fingers are crossed that i dont get lost or delayed along the way.

I have always dreamed of a salmon trip like this and if it was not for this forum i would not have the opportunity for this trip and the Hunting trips that we will share this fall and next fall.

Anything over 50 lbs goes directly to the taxidermist and onto my wall in the den..

Yup i am pumped and i will show some photos when i get back,,,who knows maybe the Kermode bear and Steve will wrestle over walter on the river bank and i can scan those as well for your viewing enjoyment.

See ya'all in a week.
