A live bear for a change
Everybody's showing their dead bears, so I thought I'd put this up.
This is a 4-year-old sow that was causing some problems at work last summer (hence the ear-tag). This one and its' sibling got a free helicopter ride but showed up again 2 weeks later. It didn't cause any more problems last year and no problems so far this spring. In the last 2 weeks at work, I saw or had reported to me, 8 different grizzlies (including 3 new cubs) |

She's in really nice shape..........except for the quills in her nose. I spent a few days chasing her around keeping her away from camp a couple of weeks ago, and managed to get her to leave for a week. $40 0r $50 worth of deterents was all it took. She had decided to make her way back to the area of the camp on Tuesday, and was back on the edge of camp yesterday.
I really hope that my replacement at work can keep her from getting into where the people are so the nothing drastic has to happen to her. |
